The 2019 NZ Marist Colts Tour took place in the Hawkes Bay / Poverty Bay regions. The touring team was hosted by the Hastings, Napier, Gisborne, and Wairoa Clubs.
New Zealand Marist would like to thank the coaches; Ryan Dunnett and former All Black Steve McDowall, Managers Richie McCrea, and David DeLange. We would also like to thank Stu Blair, and Jody Cook from OBM Gisborne, Toby Taylor from Wairoa Sub union, and Wairoa College. Also thanks to Steve Smithers from Napier OBM, and Aaron Painter from Hastings R&S.
A Special thanks to the Hawkes Bay Rugby Football Union, for giving the opportunity to play the curtain-raiser to the Hawkes Bay vs Wellington Mitre 10 Cup match.
Also a big thank you to the Saracens Rugby Football Club and in particular Simon Halford and Wayne Wooster for their efforts in putting forth a team for the Marist Colts to play.
We are also grateful to all the helpers from all clubs who helped to provide after match food and refreshments.
During the tour, the Colts visited 5 schools across the regions, and we would like to thank the schools for welcoming them and contributing to a hugely memorable occasion.
And we'd finally like to thank all parents and supporters who came out to the matches to support the team.
This tour is what makes New Zealand Marist the special identity that it is.
