LACK OF MATCH PLAY TELLING
Considering that the NZ Marist selection for the Telecom 7's was limited to a couple of day before training runs unlike other competing provincial sides who had the luxury of match play at warm-up tournaments, the side performed creditably.
Results: Pool play
vs North Harbour (the eventual tournament cup winners) lost 0-43
vs King Country won 17-10
vs Horowhenua Kapiti won 22-7
Plate quarter finals vs Taranaki (plate finalists) lost 12-17.
